Terms & Conditions of Singapore Trading Festival Campaign
The following terms and conditions (the “Terms & Conditions”) shall apply to the Singapore Trading Festival Campaign (the “Campaign”).
- Campaign Period
1.1 The Campaign will be conducted from 27 February to 5 March 2021, both dates inclusive (the “Campaign Period”). The Campaign will consist of 2 parts: Trader Summit (27 February 2021) and simulated Trading Competition (the “Competition”) (1 to 5 March 2021).
1.2 The Campaign may be withdrawn earlier by Singapore Exchange Limited (“SGX”) and Investing Note Pte Ltd (InvestingNote) at any time without prior notice.
- Eligibility and Entry
2.1. To participate in the Campaign, participants are required to register for the Summit and/or Trading Competition respectively on the Campaign Microsite (https://sgtradingfestival.sgx.investingnote.com/) (the “Microsite”) prior to the Campaign Period. Upon registration, participation will be confirmed upon receiving a notification via email.
2.2 Participation in the Campaign is at SGX’s sole discretion, and SGX may disqualify any person from participating in the Campaign for any reason. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, participants must be at least 18 years of age, and fulfil such other requirements and pre-requisites as shall be specified by SGX from time to time. By signing up for the Competition, each participant represents and warrants to SGX that he/she fulfils all such criteria and pre-requisites.
- Competition Details
3.1. Participants are required to build a simulated investment portfolio with a virtual initial capital of one hundred thousand Singapore dollars (S$100,000) through trading predefined securities products listed on SGX within the Campaign Period.
3.2. Securities products may include Common Stocks, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), Daily Leverage Certificates (DLCs) and Structured Warrants listed on the Singapore Exchange.
3.3. Each participant is only eligible for one (1) virtual trading account. Any participant who creates more than one (1) account shall be considered in breach of the Campaign Terms & Conditions and shall be disqualified from the Competition.
3.4 Each participant is required to make a minimum of five (5) Long positions for 5 different stocks OR securities within the Campaign Period, in order to be eligible for prizes.
3.5. Trading is by market order only. Participants will have to monitor the market actively to buy and sell No advanced limit/stop order is allowed.
3.6. The regular trading hours on trading days are listed below:
- 9am to 12pm; 1pm to 5pm.
- Singapore DLCs (both index and single stocks): 9am to 12pm; 1pm to 5pm.
- Hong Kong index DLCs: 9:15am to 12pm; 1pm to 4:30pm
- Hong Kong stock DLCs: 9:30am to 12pm; 1pm to 4pm
- Hong Kong stock warrants: 9.30am to 11.58am, 1.00pm to 3.58pm
- HSI and HSTECH warrants: 9.15am to 11.58am, 1.00pm to 4.28pm
- S&P 500 warrants: 9.00am to 11:58am, 1:00pm to 4:58pm
- STI, SiMSCI & Singapore underlyings: 9.00am to 11:58am, 1:00pm to 4:58pm
3.7. No odd lot may be traded.
3.8. No short selling is allowed.
3.9. No margin account is allowed.
3.10. Every trade is subject to a commission rate 0.08% or a min. commission of S$10 per trade.
3.11. Dividend and stock split (if any) will be taken into consideration. Any dividend income will be payable to the participants’ virtual account based on the ex-dividend date.
3.12. In case of any rights or warrants issue by the listed company, participants need to close their position before the issue.
3.13. In the event that any securities products in the participant’s portfolio is suspended and halt at any point in time during the Campaign Period, the holdings of these securities will be calculated based on the last traded value.
3.14. During the Competition Period, a leaderboard showing the most updated results of participants will be shown on the Microsite and InvestingNote.com respectively. The leaderboard will be updated on daily basis.
- Winners and Prizes of the Competition

4.1. Winners will be selected based on the simulated investment portfolio with the most capital gains at the end of the Competition (5:30pm, 5 March 2021) and the announcement will be made not later than 12 March 2021. Only realised profits will be taken into account at the end of the Competition. In the case of open positions not closed out by the end of the Competition, the intrinsic close will be used to calculate the gain/loss.
4.2. The winner will be announced on the Microsite not later than 12 March 2021, on SGX Facebook page, and on InvestingNote.com. The winner will also be notified via email. Winners will be invited to attend a virtual prize ceremony.
4.3. Prizes are not transferable, and may not be deferred, changed or exchanged for any other item.
4.4. Prizes are subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of SGX and any change shall be final and binding upon every participant.
4.5 In order to be eligible to receive a prize, the participant must provide to SGX details of a valid bank account and fulfil such other requirements as may be imposed by SGX in its sole discretion from time to time. SGX may decline to pay or remit any amounts if the participant does not fulfil any requirement, or if the payment or remittance of such amounts would cause SGX to be in breach of any applicable law or regulation.
- General Terms and Conditions
5.1. Any form of abuses, hacks or cheating is strongly prohibited. Any participant who breaches these terms or who otherwise acts in any manner prejudicial to the proper conduct of the Campaign or to the reputation of SGX will be disqualified from the Competition.
5.2. By participating in the Campaign, participants shall be deemed to have read, understood, accepted and be bound by (i) these Terms and Conditions; (ii) the General Terms and Conditions of websites/webpages owned by SGX; and (iii) the Terms of Service of InvestingNote.com. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, participants acknowledge and agree that webinars and other presentations during the Campaign may contain information or content from third party sources or the views of third party individuals or entities. Such third party content or views have not been independently verified by SGX, and SGX does not and shall not be taken to endorse such content or views or be liable for the content provided by or the views of third parties (if any).
5.2. The participant hereby confirms, represents and warrants that such participant is not and will not be in breach of any law in such participant’s country of residence or other applicable law regarding the legality of entering into and participating in the Campaign. SGX, its affiliates, partners, sponsors, service providers and their respective employees, officers, agents and representatives, shall not be responsible or liable for the participants in the Campaign in breach of such laws. Each participant is advised to check and seek relevant advice on the applicable laws before participating in the Campaign.
5.3. The participant consents and authorises SGX and Investing Note Pte Ltd (“IN”) to collect, store, use, disclose or process the information provided by such participant or collected during or after Campaign (including name, contact details, email addresses and other personal data and information) for the purpose of or in connection with the Campaign and ancillary purposes, including without limitation the purposes set out in the Privacy Statement.
5.4. SGX and InvestingNote reserves the right to withdraw or cancel the Campaign or to amend or change these Terms and Conditions at any time for whatever reason and without giving prior notice to the participants. The decision of SGX and InvestingNote on all matters relating to or in connection with the is final, and no correspondence will be entertained.
5.5. SGX and InvestingNote reserves the right to publish any participants’ images and details on SGX’ channels for any purpose whatsoever without having to pay any fee or compensation to the participants.
5.6. Participants shall fully indemnify and hold SGX harmless from and against any loss, damage, cost, liability or expense (including legal fees), whether direct or indirect, which SGX incurs in respect of, in connection with and/or arising from the participant’s breach of these Terms and Conditions.
5.7. In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancy between these Term and Conditions and the contents on any marketing and/or promotional materials pertaining to the Campaign, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
5.8. Participants who breach any of these Terms and Conditions shall automatically be disqualified from the Competition. Employees of SGX, Investing Note and Issuers of Securities which are traded as part of the campaign may participate in the Competition, but are not eligible for prizes. SGX and InvestingNote reserve the right to award prizes to the next best eligible participant in the event that any persons who are disqualified or ineligible are placed in the prize-winning positions.
5.9. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Singapore law. The Courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions, including the validity and enforceability thereof.
5.10. A person who is not a party to any agreement governed by these Terms and Conditions shall have no right under the Contracts (Right of Third Parties) Act (Cap 53B) to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions.
